This is why you'll feel better on most dietary theories
In most cases, it's not the framework...
Early on in my quest to understand how food can influence disease states and health, I noticed that there’s a singular link between nearly every dietary approach on the planet that touts itself as *the thing* for people who want to be healthy. It’s actually really simple: eliminate processed foods and sugar.
Anyone who eliminates processed foods and sugar is going to feel better. And as a double whammy, most people will see an improvement in weight, mood, energy, cravings, inflammation, and a variety of lab markers simply by making this one simple change.
Some dietary approaches are truly superior in how they deliver on their promises, but it can be hard to identify those protocols when nearly every framework out there offers some guarantee of improved health. I’m planning to break down the pros and cons of different food philosophies in posts to come, but wanted to kick off this journey of writing on Substack with a valuable lesson:
Worry less about the overall “framework” and just focus on eating real food.
